Alexandre Chabot - Secrétaire général

Mandate

The Secretary General reports to the university Board of Directors and is a member of the management team. He is responsible for running of university departments and a number of committees. He is the guardian of the University Seal and co-signer of diplomas. He also is responsible for the Archives Department and Legal Affairs Office.

Biography

A graduate from the Université de Montréal Department of Sociology, Alexandre Chabot was a member of the university Board of Directors from 1995 to 1998 and has worked in management since 1999. He successively served as advisor for Government Affairs, Assistant Vice-President for Public Affairs and Development, Assistant Director of Government Affairs and Chief of Staff to the Rector and Vice-Rector. From 2007-2010, he served as Vice Rector for Student Services, responsible for the CEPSUM, Student Services, Admissions and Recruitment. He coordinated relations of important matters between the university and the Quebec government and the City of Montreal, and in the implementation of a Université de Montréal campus in Laval.
